@DigitalHorology@hachyderm.io That's lovely! I adore the through-the-wood display. Do you ever have tear-through failures during fabrication? Does it show the closest moon phase or does it show the most recent moon phase? Can I invert it, so that the new moon is on the right? Does the appliance perceive the brightness of the room in which it is placed? Does the appliance indicate awareness of when the moon is above the horizon at the current location? Does it modulate color or brightness in any way?

  • @seachanged@mastodon.social No tear-through failures. I use a layer of birch veneer to cover the moon holes, so it's not an issue. LunaKron shows the current moon phase. You can invert it. It has an orientation guide on the back to help you position it for southern or northern hemisphere. You can even mount it on its small edge - I include a hanger if you want to wall-mount it this way. It does not adjust for room brightness, but it does have a subtle trick to delight when the room is dim: you can see all the phases dimly lit. LunaKron does not track the moon's position in the sky. That would be an interesting feature to add to a future version! Thanks for the questions! Keep them coming! :)
