@KayJanes@mstdn.social I wish this town (Eugene) were less heavy on horse chestnuts, if I must die hitting a nut and flipping my bike into traffic, why not an edible nut? But the crows and squirrels love them.

@KayJanes@mstdn.social But there's a bay laurel tree down by the river, near where I lived years ago (just a few blocks, I don't get around much), so that sort of makes up for it, I wander over there when I need some bay leaves 😀

@sunumbral@beige.party Our park has two horse chestnut trees. I mean, the blossoms are pretty, but yeah. The nuts are only useful to curious humans. Someone is always trying to remove the outer skin. Did not think about bicycles encountering them 🙀
