@KayJanes@mstdn.social I wish this town (Eugene) were less heavy on horse chestnuts, if I must die hitting a nut and flipping my bike into traffic, why not an edible nut? But the crows and squirrels love them.

    @KayJanes@mstdn.social But there's a bay laurel tree down by the river, near where I lived years ago (just a few blocks, I don't get around much), so that sort of makes up for it, I wander over there when I need some bay leaves ๐Ÿ˜€

    @sunumbral@beige.party Our park has two horse chestnut trees. I mean, the blossoms are pretty, but yeah. The nuts are only useful to curious humans. Someone is always trying to remove the outer skin. Did not think about bicycles encountering them ๐Ÿ™€
