Huh, I'm half way in between I think - sharing negative things involves a degree of vulnerability (not to the people who matter, but it opens you up to random passing jackasses), but to me those are the connections which mean the most and help the most. Plus, it's hard for well people to relate to the small magnitude of the positives in chronically ill life, so you need to find those people who understand that a shower is a big deal, for instance.

@3TomatoesShort@disabled.social I felt like I didn't quite have the character count to express that I find sharing negative stuff with people I have some positive context for to be very powerful and meaningful - it's just that I find that a lot harder to do with people that I don't have context for/connection to (and most often, I build that initial connection through something positive - even if that's just excitement at finding someone who has shared experiences). Shared understanding is important for sure
