@nf3xn@mastodon.social @mahryekuh@hachyderm.io That genuinely worries me that there are no ways to counteract them, I have no need to use them but having two kids who aren't very street wise it frightens me that they can be recorded without their knowledge.

@TrevfromIreland@mastodon.ie @nf3xn@mastodon.social That's a legitimate concern. But anyone, anywhere can be recorded, even in places where safety and privacy are essential. (E.g., health facilities, banks.) Imagine someone walking into a changing room wearing one of these things. And IMO it doesn't even matter if the things are actively recording, the fact that there is a camera makes it a risk factor. --- It also reminds me of a concern that was originally raised for AI browsers, but would equally go for the glasses: You can use the technology to read online forums that are normally protected from scrapers by authentication.

@TrevfromIreland@mastodon.ie @mahryekuh@hachyderm.io you'd think the police could do more given that you cannot use them without a facebook account afaik so the perps should be really easy to track. There are also the instances where people are spying on secure facilities, casing out targets for foreign adversaries. There are so many highly dangerous and malicious uses of them. We're always slow to react to these things sadly.
