@asci@indieweb.social wow, yeah what I'm seeing is radically different. here are results from dot social (goes to a semi related profile search) slime (trying to just serve high scoring public posts I think?) and shrike (ditto)
none of these three instances produce the linked post at all let alone as their first result
is it possible something special needs to be put into the "default instance" field beyond the simple url? I've just been typing in e.g. "mastodon.social"

@asci@indieweb.social I just tried adding them as e.g. "http://slime.global" and it simply breaks because the site strips the colon from the url, so, clearly that's not it lol EDIT: ok well, I don't think I have a way of actually escaping out of that being rendered as an actual url, but, basically what I'm saying is that I added the http:// at the beginning of the url, and that just breaks the whole thing.
