This whole bullshit with Chrome snagging another 4G of disk space for local model weights reminds me that developers should always be outfitted with the second shittiest machines still under support, and the proper response to whines of "my machine is slow!" is "write better goddamn code."

@wordshaper@weatherishappening.network I have been realizing how many JavaScript bits in a 15 year old site I’m looking at could be replaced with modern CSS. Getting rid of code is always a good feeling. Even better than making it faster.
