@wordshaper@weatherishappening.network one of the best engineering decisions I’ve ever seen was when the Firefox team decided their reference laptop would be “take $400 to Best Buy”.

@mhoye@cosocial.ca In the Before Times I occasionally advocated that we should see if we could rent a car on the red line of the T and use it as a mobile office, and make people work on it. If your app/web stuff works well in the spotty-connection RF insane environment that is the red line then it'd be really snappy for everyone else. Also companies should have dev offices on islands, well away from data centers. (Google Honolulu? Works for me, because google itself often doesn't there)

@mhoye@cosocial.ca @wordshaper@weatherishappening.network at Disney we made mobile developers use a bandwidth throttle controller to make sure they had p99 bandwidth that was seen in the parks. Huge shift.
