The U.S. isn't just going through a moment, it's been going through a moment. Trump isn't actually the problem, he's the symptom. When you look at the graphs of wealth inequality and resegregation, you'll notice that they started a while ago. These aren't new things here. When you hear anecdotes of harm, those aren't just stories. They're real. Because for every single one that you hear, there are thousands that you don't. 19/20

    I realize that what's happening right now feels huge, and I sympathize with the sense of powerlessness that can grow when we look at the news and see these big things happening. However, I can assure you that these big things have been set into motion and are, in fact, sustained by an uncountable number of tiny human interactions behind the scenes. Discomfort today can build a better world tomorrow. 20/20
