This is something that needs to be understood, because I feel like talking about race and racism seems to be slipping to the back of folks minds in the mess of other stuff happening right now.
I completely sympathize with it, too. There are way too many things to think about and keep track of right now, but I just want to share something.

This morning when I was talking with my mom and the stories were being shared of what was happening to people in my family that were suddenly getting pushed out of jobs, she said something. She said, "I guess we'll have to go back to how it used to be with white folks. We'll need to do things in secret, stay below them and keep out of sight, and build for ourselves without them. We'll build for us and keep ourselves safe." 12/20
