Don't get it confused. What's happening right now isn't a one-off thing. It's literally resegregation, and it's occurring on a massive scale.
Lost in everything else that's happening in the US right now, the country is reverting nearly every gain in desegregation that occurred during the civil rights era.
I had this thought after talking to my mom and realizing that there aren't any black women in my near family that are employed right now. That doesn't happen in a vacuum.

So, I dove down a rabbit hole that led to reading some research papers. What I found is that it isn't just anecdotes. The data backs it up - https://belonging.berkeley.edu/press-release-most-metros-us-have-become-more-segregated-1990 That report is from 2021, but I don't really think that the current administration has made improvements in this area. In fact, things are getting worse out here. The cuts that were made to the Federal workforce were extremely damaging to the black community. 3/20
