If Jason Kenney can come out in defense of Canada in Alberta why can't Pierre Poilievre? Why can't the national conservative party as a whole? I suspect it's because they're aligned with the separatists in the back rooms and that is soft treason.

@mike@thecanadian.social Carney is pretty quiet on the issue as well. I suppose he's hoping that buying them another pipeline will shut them up the same way Trudeau did.

@mike@thecanadian.social What Poilievre doesn't seem to realize is that if Alberta separates, he, and the rest of the Alberta MPs, would all need to go elsewhere and do more by-elections. Those senators from Alberta would have to move too, and possibly be reappointed.
