@roastinghouse@mastodonapp.uk @sen@beige.party Thank you for your service! 🫡 🏃‍♀️ We've got our club (Bromley Vets) takeover at Norman Park on Saturday so I'll get my 6th volunteer, which I'm pretty excited about. I love volunteering and would have done more but it's taken me FOUR YEARS to catch upto my wife's parkruns. However we pulled level the other week and as soon as I go ahead of her I'll use it to volunteer again. I absolutely love the look of Waverley. I've only done a handful of locations because it coincides with dropping kiddo at work but Norman Park is local (flat, pavement, good for PBs, but regularly 800+), followed by Bethlem Hospital (infamously Bedlam - lovely trail), Squerreys (vineyard - absolutely beautiful but ludicrous for mud) and now Hoblingwell (our new regular), which is an absolute BASTARD. Gratifyingly I've just looked it up and it's apparently 783 out of 835 hardest in the UK (that's what she said)... Extremely pleased to see that Bethlem is also 718 and am now wondering if I'm a pro athlete and not a slow permanently out of breath close to collapse terrible runner. https://therunningchannel.com/fastest-and-slowest-parkruns-uk/

  • @TheBreadmonkey@beige.party @sen@beige.party Thanks for that link, interesting. Bestwood Village is the only time I've got a top 10 (I'm a 25-28 minute runner but OK at getting up hills) which according to that appears to be the 26th hardest parkrun in UK. Waverley Lakes isn't on there yet but I would say it's about as hard Colwick which is pretty easy scoring 2.2 on there. If it was me I would make Waverley harder by going up that top hill as there's a pretty mean incline to get on it. Not sure the route down without it being dangerous or going outside the park though so probably best it doesn't.
