Here we have Corvus brachyrhynchos all over the place. I’ve taken to feeding them unshelled peanuts on my daily dog walk, and now there’s a sub-murder that taxes me regularly. They set up little toll stations along my walk to maximize their haul. But they get in lots of territorial fights with blue jays, mocking birds, and our red tail hawks. It’s a weird reverse pecking order where the smallest birds usually win, a kind of chihuahua effect.

@oatmealraisin@mas.to That is nice. I would like to do the same, but I don't have a regular walk like that, in particular not since I started working from home. But maybe I could establish one... building a relationship with them seems like a rewarding thing to do. Peanuts — unshelled, and unsalted, of course, but also unroasted, I assume? Would have to take care not to feed the pigeons; they are rather a pest here.
