I just received a "new" laptop: a 4 year old lenovo yoga. With a fingerprint reader. That just works on linux.
Logging in with fingerprint is a surprising joy :-D

@Bene@fosstodon.org I got a pleasant surprise with my really old 11" Asus laptop when I installed Linux Mint and the touchscreen worked without issue. I was prepared to lose that functionality for the price of moving it to Linux from Win 10 but I needn't have worried

@Bene@fosstodon.org The fingerprint reader on my old T560 worked perfectly, but they did not have a driver for the fingerprint reader they came out with on later models so my T580 fingerprint reader does not work. Maybe they have a driver for the newer models?
