I got a pleasant surprise with my really old 11" Asus laptop when I installed Linux Mint and the touchscreen worked without issue. I was prepared to lose that functionality for the price of moving it to Linux from Win 10 but I needn't have worried

@raymierussell@mastodon.scot I find it quite surprising, that most parts just work. From what I gathered, fingerprint sensors often/sometimes don't provide open source drivers, or non-windows-capable drivers at all. Nice to read, that you also have a working system, that would otherwise be e-waste
