My family is going to San Francisco later this summer.
I *want* to take the Coast Starlight. But even in coach, that’s $660.
The cost of driving it would be $115 at $4.5/gallon.
This is not how you make public transit win.

@philip@mastodon.mallegolhansen.com it’s true that the train is more expensive. But it is also a lot slower. (Agreed we can and should do much better.)
