@t_var_s@phpc.social @baldur@toot.cafe in my opinion what web devs want is tooling that makes the interactions between these 3 concerns clearer. But instead we got a bunch of corporate tools that slammed all of it into javascript, written by folks (at facebook and microsoft, mostly) who don’t care about understanding the web as a platform because they think /they/ are they platform. React and its descendants are an attempt to abstract and coerce the web into corporate factory lines. It’s a real shame!

@splendorr@mastodon.social @baldur@toot.cafe I recognise the elephant in the room, but I like to think about web components or smaller frameworks. I prefer not having a build step, but there's a whole world of options that opens up once you do.
