Will a single lesson be learned from this? I think it's very useful they shared because it's an example of how promises != realities from all companies involved in this situation and a story to point to as evidence that marketing claims are being treated the same as technical specs/tests.

    @platypus@glammr.us this one's best with popcorn. No sympathy for someone that essentially pipes the Markov chain text generator into their shell. Sorry but random and unexpected behavior is kind of the deal there, maybe they could spend all that token money on someone who knows not to rm random production data.

    @platypus@glammr.us Also, systems for development should NEVER have access to production data. That's basic stuff. AI is dangerous, but this company had no security discipline in the first place. The rules don't change just because we have new magic beans.
