@anselmschueler@ieji.de @digichelle@hachyderm.io Because everyone else asks & doesn't leave you alone about it & will continue pressuring you to have alcohol if your reason doesn't satisfy them. Asking details on certain decisions that only affect the person making the decision shouldn't be normal. You don't ask someone why they don't want soda or why they don't want chips. It's weird & only makes others uncomfortable.

    @jackemled@furry.engineer @digichelle@hachyderm.io I agree that if there's an onslaught of neverending questions about this it's annoying or distressing. I suppose this might happen at a party, but in a family setting people will probably ask little. I've been asked why I don't drink rarely and was never pushed to (I think). But I don't go to (big) parties.
