@anselmschueler@ieji.de @digichelle@hachyderm.io because it’s none of your business. Why do you need to know the reason people don’t drink? So you can use that information against them later? Or do you just want to make them feel uncomfortable because they make different choices than you make? Or does it make you feel uncomfortable that you need to have alcohol in social situations?
This is some audacity here. Why do you feel you have a right to the information? Have you considered that if they wanted you to know why they would elaborate?

@maggiejk@zeroes.ca @digichelle@hachyderm.io If I was asking this question the justification would be either smalltalk/bonding or finding out more about the person. In a social setting that's expected. Why would the question itself make the other person uncomfortable? It's straightforward. Even the implication that drinking is normal is at least somewhat correct in that it's considered normal.
