@CanvasesByPeter@mementomori.social There is a branch of religious thought that says happy and/or rich people have been favoured by God and miserable/poor people are disfavoured. This is the prosperity gospel. It has some logic, if you are going to believe in an all-powerful God who is controlling everything, but then you have to wonder why God creates some people to make them happy and others to make them suffer. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prosperity_theology
