Why is the “p” glyph's loop open like that? Is it common in France to write it that way?

@argv_minus_one@mastodon.sdf.org @typographiesfr@typo.social it is a French standard yes, we have what we can consider « localised forms » for b, r, p, s, f, z and 7. And don’t get me started on the capitals 😅 i would be surprised if the font gets used in another country.
