@Doctor0710@mas.to @j9t@mas.to Falling back to hotels is probably the best option rather than AirBnB. Unfortunately, in some locations AirBnB & Booking.com essentially have a monopoly - especially on apartments. Once you've visted somewhere, you can get to know the apartment owners & book direct from them, but getting there in the first place is a potential stumbling block.

@Doctor0710@mas.to, for us, that’s what we’re doing. We had been Airbnb and Booking.com power users, have stopped using them, and haven’t looked back. Airbnb has been enshittified anyway, Booking.com gave discounts on their markups. Don’t even feel we pay more now.
