@simmer@sfba.social Stoked to receive your reply. Thank you so much for taking the time. I want to make my own antennas...to start with anyway...then who knows? But yeah that's where I'd like to start. I've heard of crimp connectors and have seen a video that recommends them. I'm not sure how much build quality I would sacrifice though. @JustinMac84@mastodon.social Crimps are the gold standard for most wire connections. They are the most reliable because, when done right, air is squeezed out from the contact area and the metal-metal connection is preserved. And unlike solder connections, the wire is not made brittle and so it can flex more without breaking. Dig through any industrial equipment or any vehicle... Most wires will terminate at a crimp. If it works for your application, this would be a great option.
