@TheCoolest@dftba.club @Pheneatis@mstdn.ca I think what I've been seeing is that people are silencing m.s until they figure this out which seems completely fair. And the app thing - I do hope they add more. The changes just went in place though if I'm not mistaken so maybe with a little time this will have a happier resolution. But the selection of instances was a HUGE turn off for a LOT of people

@AbandonedAmerica@mastodon.social @Pheneatis@mstdn.ca As for the app signup, I know a lot of social networks ask for people's interests etc. after joining, so I feel like it might not be too hard on the user to ask those questions before joining instead, so that it will still narrow it down (ideally to 1 so there's no hesitation in choosing), but the ones it selects can be different for each user
