@jloc0 @thesaigoneer What? No! My slackbuilds exist because I don't want to reinvent things constantly. They store the knowledge of how to build that package so I don't have to remember it. This is why mine are as automated as possible, most will pull the code, find the version alone. Then on top I have a meta-script I run every day that will automatically build and upgrade all installed packages. Think once, run many.

  • @gwenhael Of course that is a great way to do things. Just like my dwm is absolutely my dwm, no one has the same one. If you can automate the process like that it is very useful and I am sure @jloc0 does the same with his repos. As for running a slackbuild, where i pull down a deb manually and turn it into a Slackware pkg, I see no difference with getting the rpm and running rpm2tgz (and having the same functionality). But hey, that's me 😎
