@networkexception@chaos.social oh that vaguely feels similar to that "hold thinkpad wrong to crash" problem thinkpads sometimes had, which was apparently down to flexing the PCB and shit solder joints briefly breaking the connection on the SO-DIMM sockets or something. Except vibrations weren't usually enough I think and most of these you had to slap or hold wrong so they would bend enough.

@networkexception@chaos.social On a more serious note: Those symptoms smell like memory errors; especially if it gets worse with vibrations. Have you tried re-seating it? Which make of RAM is it? Anectdata: My FW16 board was *very* picky about that. It would glitch out & crash and at some point not even boot if it had two sticks of the RAM I originally bought for it but did not have any such issues with the officially supported/tested Cruicial kit. Different board of course but worth looking into.

@networkexception@chaos.social If it doesn't have these issues when "not shaking" then it is either one of two things: * bad connection between components * bad connection on the PCB I think the memory is quite sturdily inserted in these notebooks so I'd assume it is 2. However check if it is actually well inserted and if maybe the contacts are corroded first though. If it is on the PCB you most likely will need a rework station and have to hunt for a bad soldering joint (or "yolo-reflowing" it)

@networkexception@chaos.social When you say: iGPU, hanging or straight up resetting (rebooting) on various occasionsdo you mean like, you'll be working and suddenly the screen turns black and it's doing a reboot? Cuz I have an AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS (which seems like an extremely similar but just slightly more heavy duty) CPU on a Dell G15 5535 and I have this problem occasionally, regardless of OS. I wonder if this is an AMD issue and not a Framework issue

@networkexception@chaos.social vibrations triggering a memory bug more reliably says physical defect to me on the two lines that are zeroed. is there a pattern to the addresses at all? they seem to be scrolling on screen and i can't read them very clearly
