@networkexception@chaos.social oh that vaguely feels similar to that "hold thinkpad wrong to crash" problem thinkpads sometimes had, which was apparently down to flexing the PCB and shit solder joints briefly breaking the connection on the SO-DIMM sockets or something.
Except vibrations weren't usually enough I think and most of these you had to slap or hold wrong so they would bend enough.

(as my daily device) luckily since last time opening and closing its not doing that anymore. wonder when it will start again. it always starts again after half a year or so and stops when i get annoyed enough and open & close it and re tighten all the screws. sometimes just tightening the screws is enough.
