A curious question to blind Apple II fans, including jaybird110127@dragonscave.space. I would ask on the list, but I&#39;m not subscribed and I can&#39;t remember my groups.io password. In any case, has anyone figured out a way to play Z-Code games (either by Infocom or written using Inform 6 W/ PunyInform) using the latest mame apple package? I heard from somewhere that most Inform games released on the Apple were intended to be booted standalone, I.E. outside of a DOS environment.

@HunterXWorld@mstdn.social I've wondered this myself as has @matt@toot.cafe and, as far as I know, without using Textalker-GS on the Apple IIgs, the answer is no. I'm actually surprised someone or other didn't find a way to solve this problem back in the day. I keep thinking someone could have written an accessible Z-code interpreter where you would have provided your own legally-purchased Infocom game disks and it would make them accessible. But what I keep forgetting is that as far as I know, no one knew much about the Infocom Z-code format until the late 80's.

@HunterXWorld@mstdn.social As for Groups.io, you can always subscribe via Email by sending a blank message to blindapple+subscribe@groups.io or if you want to use the web, there should be a link to Email yourself a link to log into your account. Once you're in, you can then change your password.
