@mrc here is lot of options for riding but don't expect anything flat - it is up and down nearly everywhere. What I suggested is just what I have ridden through a lot so I know that the roads are nice and varied so everyone finds some nice sections.

@plactagonic Neat! I love hills so that won't be a problem. I've passed by the region a million times on the Berlin-Budapest train and had a lot of "oh, I should come back one day by bike" moments. And yes, the trains on that line do take bikes, including the new Railjet ones.
