is it ok to spend a lot of time and energy on something you believe in, even while the world goes to shit and it feels like the future is bleak? i think it's probably ok.

i reckon the alternative is to do things you don’t believe in while everything goes to hell, so do with that what you will

@c_reider@sonomu.club asking this question a lot. can’t really answer and I feel too little trying to answer that for myself but I think you are trying to make the world a better place with the little you can do. and that thing that you invest time and energy helps you feel good and look after yourself, then yeah. otherwise how can you make things better for others? I think I am just blabbering now but it is OK.

@c_reider@sonomu.club so long as it doesn’t negatively affect the stock price I think you’re good to go.

@c_reider@sonomu.club I fully think it's ok I don't have any delusion that turning my 2.7 acres into thriving wildlife habitat and productive food growing space can offset ~insert thousands of pages of climate change research here~ but it makes me happy, it makes my life feel purposeful, it brings joy & life *right now* despite the uncertain future I mean the time goes on no matter what. Might as well pour into something that feels worthwhile to you specifically, who could regret that?
