How do you kindly correct people or do you just leave it as is if they say something so not you about your music? Or you don’t care at all? or does it prompt you to think? Does it depend on who that is? Someone you share a connection with vs acquaintances? Example 1: Me bumping into a DJ in an event, we say hi and she says some nice things but starts the conversation by saying “oh yeah you are that breakcore producer!” Me: just smiles and makes a silly joke. (my internal dialogue - I AM N...

I am doing a live set tomorrow night on a boat in Greenwich as part of NAUS #2 - an evening of live electronic improvisation on board "A Slice of Reality". Please come over if you are in the area but rsvp soon as spaces turn out to be limited! Quoting notes from the host Stephen Shiell with many thanks for inviting me to perform “Six events organised as part of an artist residency. These are actions to explore the tensions that exist between the public and private. With seri...

this was my lucky access to Buchla modules on Monday. Complex waveform generator, verbos multi-envelope, and source of uncertainty. quad function generator also particularly fun. Recorded over an hour of fiddling with these toys ehem modules when a student was absent. Happy the conservatoire has these tools but not many students show interest unless prompted. On another note normally I find it so hard to get on with keyboards as a non-piano player. Guitarist. Different background. There is muc...

Figure 0C: Someone who is obsessed with the Retrig command in LSDJ’s noise channel. I am not sure if that’s what the mighty @defensem3ch meant with “the joys of noise” hehe #lsdj #littlesounddj #tracker #trackers #chiptun #chiptunes #chipmusic #gameboy #noisemusic

RE: https://tldr.nettime.org/@elifyalvac/116133239185767164 I wrote a conclusion about this question: whether "it is still worth releasing music for DIY/independent artists" Happy reading! https://elifyalvac.com/4059-2/ So many nice answers came out, more than I expected! Hence, this post on my website. The answers truly helped me with my intermittent but growing pessimism and hopelessness. Many thanks to all those who took their time to share insights!

I’m getting some cha-ching updates. Many thanks to friends and people that I met here who supported the music. Hope you enjoy it! I am sorry if I haven’t thanked you directly for your generosity! So please accept this post as my way of saying thank you!

RE: https://tldr.nettime.org/@elifyalvac/116133239185767164 I got a lot of responses and I really appreciate it. Some of them are boost and really good perspectives, seeing the valuable sides of it like connecting with others and documenting a journey for your own reference, and not being affected by what others do or say, therefore being confident and strong with that. I will share a general conclusion once it is complete and once I can take it in. Just to clarify, as I am getting unsolicited...

Éliane Radigue… I am shocked and so sad. Rest in peace, you made history. You helped shape electronic music and beyond.

Continuing on some of the wonderful things about Fediverse: I’ve been meaning to share some lovely merch I got through my explorations here. Love my new shirts so I’m adding an image here. I’ve been enjoying recreational Maths with @christianp’s works at https://somethingorotherwhatever.com/ and I was inspired to order some shirts he made, from https://aperiodical.teemill.com/ including one with Look-and-Say sequence. Many thanks

@sdem @tsrono should have known from 28 gun bad boy. DJs sped up version became the original release version apparently. Didn’t know he was doing livestreams. I mean I barely log into Instagram now but his FB posts were looking a bit funny… anyway it’d be good to see som excerpts from those sessions

Always going back to Untilted. So wild and harsh, brutal. Relentless. Probably why I enjoyed AE’s recent gigs a lot. Augmatic Disport, LCC, Ipacial Section, Sublimit… or just most tracks really.. They have elements that are not dissimilar to what you experience in some of decent works from speedcore scene
