@Photo55
The issue is not connectivity of people inside the country. There are numerous @matrix and @delta relays. The issue is connecting these services to wold-wide web. Iran gov have made a "national internet" (a.k.a., intranet) and there are "national" services analogous to WhatsApp, Youtube, ... and also banking and other stuff works. Of course their security and privacy standards are a major concern. I'm sure soon people will start using a ton or i2p as well.

@Photo55 Btw, thanks for the book suggestion. I cannot find the book on his online shop. Do you happen to know where I can find it? https://shop.craphound.com/

@Mehrad @matrix @delta I wonder if #FIDONET still runs. Routing around the fault* at the entire border seems a way to proceed, and mesh connections across it one way to do that, I'd think. I wonder if HF bounces off the ionosphere, and an occasional balloon repeater, drones etc might help. Staying off the public wires doesn't seem that bad an idea, within the country, either. * censorship, interpreted
