@freediverx @rl_dane at least paid software always respected you and your work back then. Not the case today — Windows still technically costs money, but behaves as if it's free. Many other things are subscriptions (for no good reason) but still treat you with utter disrespect.

@grishka @rl_dane Right, but what we didn't realize is that their long term plans were to be nice to users at first to rapidly scale up their business, lock them in, and later maximize profits by clawing back all the value for themselves and their shareholders. We didn't yet realize they were seeking infinite growth.
