Though I would posit that this is true only if your devices are regularly doing `pull`s.
I don’t mean to “☝️ well actually ☝️” you; this is something I’ve been kicking around myself and haven’t come to a conclusion about.

@caseyliss Forgejo (and Gitea from which it is forked) have a scheduled sync option to pull in upstream changes from mirrored repos elsewhere. until we get full activitypub support that's a pretty good backup. Have multiple Forgejos!
