For folks who are interested, Justice Schabas’s actual judgment makes for engaging and invigorating reading. He has little time for the government’s lazy, BS “reasoning” and he makes it crystal clear why. And given that the Ontario government’s cycle lane legislation has been ruled unconstitutional in a blistering judgment by Justice Paul Schabas, this feels a great time to revisit this hilariously scathing video on the legislation (and more) from @notjustbikes #Cycling #BikeTooter #ONpoli #Toronto #BikeTO https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KgFCQ7jEZxI

@uxmark Spitting some fire: "Rights claims are not denied because others may make a similar claim or because it is administratively inconvenient to comply with the Charter"

@uxmark Schabas's ruling on Toronto bike lanes is great reading! He repeatedly points out the Ontario government's case has no evidence, or is contrary to the evidence, and was contrary to the government's own CIMA report, which they took a long time to reveal. ie. Doug Ford et. al. lied by omission, lied outright, then lied and tried to hide it. And the cherry on top: Cycle Toronto was represented pro bono, but Schabas awarded their counsel $200,000 in costs anyway! #Cycling #Biking #ONpoli
