Final travel day. We have booked a direct train from Göttingen to Basel, what could go wrong? Well, DB announced short-term construction works between Freiburg and Basel starting at Saturday afternoon resulting in replacement buses. It would have been my second attempt to travel with the ECE service Hamburg-Basel (operated with SBB Giruno), but this train has been cancelled completely. Other ICE trains end at Karlsruhe already. We take the last remaining direct train to Basel. #AmRumJammern

After eight (!) times coming home via Frankfurt delayed by at least one hour, I finally arrive in Switzerland on time. In order to celebrate that this through train actually goes further than Basel SBB, I stay onboard until Olten because it doesn't matter where to change. #AmRumReisen
