@thankfulmachine@oldbytes.space What would be the benefit? There wouldn't be any code to remove, the AI stuff is a separate add-on that's not installed by default. If that changes, then sure. So is it just a fork with a different name and code of ethics that, realistically, means nothing if continuing to pull code from the main project when they release new features? If it were in the vein of Vscodium, ungoogled-chromium, LineageOS... forks that are actually taking stuff out it would make more sense.

@thankfulmachine@oldbytes.space UPBGE is a fork of Blender. But they use AI to develop it now. For a few years before that they did nothing at all. In a way you have a double edged sword now in 2026. One side has funding from an AI company, meaning ability to hire developers who will write code, written by humans. Or you could fork it, and have no funding, which means AI generated code. There is no good answer, but in hard times you need to survive. And blender survives.
