I've just been asked how my home battery is doing 8 years later. The answer is: Fine!*
As per the reply I gave on YT:
"Remember, these cells are from a G1 Leaf. The worst of the worst, the Ford Model T. And they still run my house. To all those who say batteries are gonna be a waste problem I say not if you find uses for them and don't insist on brand new."

*Slightly more nuanced is that there's been some decline in capacity but I have pathetic data logging on it so I can't quantify it precisely. Not a huge decline though.
Edit: Before anyone says it, I take safety very seriously here. After this video was made I got a proper house for the battery to keep ignorant fingers and cups of coffee out of it!

My response for the decline in capacity for a LEAF battery used in a house is that a house doesn't need to have much range because they don't move terribly quickly. @Niall
