@zeank @janl I learned only this weekend that this is considered vital in German university education and is considered a waste of time on the other side of the Atlantic, with various in-between shades in other European countries

@zeank yup. It was a problem of choice: if you bring one thing into the world there are a lot of things which you wouldn’t bring. Scarcity. And now we’re living thru the great societal change of abundance (at least on the personal level: I’m still on the fence if it translates to the real abundance on the market). _It’s good that I lived long enough to become descriptivist: I can watch it and take notes._

@zeank I think that training must be quite rare. The dominant creed seems to be that technology is good for its own sake and better if it makes money.
