@zeank @janl I learned only this weekend that this is considered vital in German university education and is considered a waste of time on the other side of the Atlantic, with various in-between shades in other European countries

@dpk @janl back then (the 90s) it was mandatory to take some classes in social sciences. Not everybody was a big fan of that for sure but it shaped me and I’m sure it shaped many others. In a positive way.
