@gdinwiddie broadcasting is also a good term for it, yeah. I struggled with finding the right word and settled on engagement farming, as it seemed appropriately pejorative.

@Haste To me, engagement implies that it is bidirectional. After reading Chris Hayes’ book, The Sirens’ Call, perhaps “attention farming” might be appropriate. They want to gain the attention of people, not responses.
