In honour of Black Author Day (which was yesterday, and I missed it!) some Black authors I highly recommend:
Nnedi Okorafor. The Binti series are particular favourites of mine, but all of her books are amazing. Binti is the first member of the Himba people is accepted into an intergalactic university, but her ship gets hijacked on her way there.

NK Jemisin. The Broken Earth trilogy is absolutely brutal and heartbreaking. It's also one of the most beautiful stories I've read. It's hard to talk about without spoilers, so I won't. Just go read it!
