@ricmac@mastodon.social I like your articles, the issue is that this one doesn’t make a case either for the website that is providing the data or for the users of that site.
It is a fact that the LLM’s systems, and associated software, are currently breaking havoc on the web. If anything, the owners of the websites and services affected are trying to stop a deluge of unwanted traffic, in many cases at the levels of DDoS attacks.
This hurts the UX of the real users of the websites and services affected.

@wtrmt@mastodon.social I think we are talking at cross-purposes here. Your criticisms are entirely valid, but not what my article was about. But I appreciate the followup comments — I just get frustrated with generic insults on social media, which tends to especially happen with AI stuff. Anyway, I am glad you explained your concerns.
