@catmisgivings@stranger.social He was universally beloved for a year or two after 9/11, mostly by people who'd never set foot in New York.
It's ironic, because 9/11 was so much worse than it needed to be because of decisions that Giuliani made

@jalefkowit @catmisgivings this is so enlightening. I’m one of those outsiders who thought that, at some point, Giuliani was a good mayor and New Yorkers loved him. I think he’s mentioned in a Seinfeld episode in a positive light. Sounds like collective media delusion or maybe a conspiracy.

@jalefkowit @catmisgivings I remember that in the months prior to 9/11 was filled with scandals and he was about to leave office in absolute disgrace. It's always frustrating how 9/11 changed that image of him.
