I want to draw again so badly, so why can I never pick up the pencil and just draw? I used to just doodle for hours. As a teenager I had my heart set on becoming a comic book artist.

@bootblackcub@woof.group Would you do something for me? Pick up a pen or pencil and any scrap of paper, and draw a square. Just that one thing. Let me know when that's done.

@bootblackcub@woof.group For about 10 years, I really struggled to write. Despite desperately wanting to. I finally broke through, and now I'm starting work on my 5th novel. Just keep trying things, and eventually you'll find what works for you.

It’s hard. It’s really hard. There’s that whole spiral of “but what if I’m not good enough” “I’m going to have to do so much work before I can even start” “I don’t have the willpower to go through all that just to get back to zero” So for that, I find two things helpful-
