@thesaigoneer@social.linux.pizza I'll stay loyal to Acer ๐ usually works nicely as they don't try to screw the user by limiting their options artificially (such as blacklisting other miniPCI cards, etc., like a certain, formerly three letter manufacturer does).
There's crisis, laptops with 16+ GB of RAM are now rarer than tears of unicorn (at least reasonably priced ones). Lucky for me, 5-6 years old HW is still more than fine (typing this at home on a 6th gen i3).

@kotrckapeter@mastodon.uno Yes, Acer might be decent, looked at them many times but never actually had one. A lot of bang for the buck. As for hw: since 2018 I've only bought 2nd hand stuff, which market is as good as anywhere over here in Vietnam. A lot of ex-corporate Dells and Lenovos being dumped. One exception: last year I managed to buy a 98 USD minipc, with a N150, 256Gb ssd and 16Gb of RAM. Those were the days ๐
