Tangenting off someone else’s post, here’s a very silly take: Vim is a domme. It’s bossy and very procedural, but ultimately you (the sub) are the one in control. Vim has safe words. “Oh, you think you’ve had enough? If you really want to be done, use this exact expression, and I will release you.“
It’s not great at aftercare, though.
