@in_sympathy @maxalmonte14 I'm not sure that I would quite go that far but I do feel like decent mid-spec PCs could be pushed up to a price point that the general population would not be able to afford.
Similar to how PC stuff was back in the '80s. Very few people had high end machines because it was prohibitively expensive.
I'm trying to figure out exactly what PC/ electronic stuff I might potentially need for the next four years.
I'm thinking of it as an investment rather than a splurge.

@Judeau @in_sympathy and keep in mind you're talking in first world terms here; in "my" country, the concept of the everyday person owning a computer was not a thing until the mid to late 2000s (since all electronics have to be imported, making prices even more ridiculous.) This is where we're heading back...
