  I have an old bluesky account that I seldom use. I logged in this morning and was faced with an age verification page. I always use a VPN and it thought I was in Texas so I disabled it and, living in Oklahoma, I was able to get right in with no age verification... For now... So, it looks like if you live in Texas this is a sign of things to come and something many more of us will probably have to deal with in the future. I'm not sharing my associated Google account nor am I going to use...

  Yesterday I got a classic #SonicTheHedgehog chip tune stuck in my head. I knew it was from either the first or second game. My kids were also familiar with it but we could not remember which stage it was from. We qued up the sound tracks on YouTube and made our way through each of the stages songs and came up empty handed. We were baffled.   The news of #Fox purchasing #Roku is quite depressing. Apparently its #FoxCorp, the Fox News arm. At first I thought perhaps it was being brought under the #Disney owned arm of Fox but that's not the case. This regime has all the big social media sites under their thumb.   After upgrading my #Android phone a while back, I decided to take the old phone (Pixel 6) and backup all my photos, videos etc. As I am copying them to my computer I was having a hard time finding where the voice recordings were located. I take a LOT of voice recordings & haven't backed them up in years. After doing a bit of reading it sounds like #Google sealed them off and you have to have root access unless you share them online. WTF?! #PocketPC would never do this to me.

  Life Lesson #347 If you own an all wheel drive vehicle and a single tire goes bad and needs to be replaced, ALL FOUR tires need to be replaced. Thanks to a single nail in the sidewall of the tire, there goes $900 that I didn't plan on.

  I have been looking for a Sylvania #SmartBook for some time & finally got one! These are such interesting devices. One part 90's H/PC, one part 2000's #PocketPC & thrown into a #NetBook form factor. It's a strange hybrid device of form and function. I can't wait to tinker around with this. Since it runs on ARM and #WindowsCE I have heard there are ways to load pocket PC programs on it, though they may be unoptimized. #PDA #RetroTech #Handheld #HandheldPC

  Okay... I'm no mathematician & barely understand the difference between letters & numbers but after looking over a few charts that cover the last year, it depressingly looks like: RAM prices are up 400% SSD prices are up 125% HDD prices are up 25% Micro / SD card prices are up 150% Processor prices are expected to start their climb.   Why is this #PacMan World Repack boss so difficult!?!?!? He only takes four hits but each hit that you do on him he changes up his attack pattern and adds additional attacks. I've gotten him down to the last hit countless times but I cannot seem to finish him off. I'm sucking so bad the game has asked me multiple times if I want to switch into 'Easy' mode.   After settling back in from our Branson vacation I decided to give #Arzette another go. I thoroughly searched all of the stages for a shovel or any other item to trade and had no luck. I decided that the next tradable item would have to be in the final stage. I started the final stage and before I knew it made it to the boss and beat the game.   Omega Race is one of my favorite #C64 games. I used to chase high scores on this game several times a week before all of my c64s eventually quit working. Honestly, this is one of the handful of high score games that I would consistently play. I absolutely love this game. I'm getting ready to boot this up on the c64 ultimate for the first time in 15+ years. Hopefully it still works. Any other Omega Race fans out there? #Commodore #Commodore64 #RetroGaming

  The #Atari cx78+ wireless gamepad is compatible with the #Commodore64 Ultimate. I had heard that this was the case but had yet to see video or pictures of anyone actually using it. I can confirm that it works flawlessly. Now if only there was a way to make the second button register as up on the controller... One can dream... #C64 #RetroGaming

  One memory I would have liked to have kept suppressed is just how bad driver issues used to be in #Windows. 😆 Driver discovery and installation is one area where Windows really improved over the years. I remember being impressed with just how good it was upgrading from XP to 7, but Win 10 was near perfection in my use case. I bring this up because I was trying to revive an old #Asus #EeePC this week and it was a challenge. 🧵1/3

  I have had the #DungeonCrawler 'The Quest' on my steam wish list for years. I don't know why, I've just never got around to purchasing it. I didn't realize that this game started life on the #PocketPC. It is now running on my #WindowsCE #SmartBook at a glorious one frame a second. While this game looks wonderful, this device is woeful. 😂 #PDA #RetroTech #RetroGaming

  Time for some refurbishing. These haven't been used in probably 15 years. The TAC-2 and its little brother, the Slik Stik are fan favorites but honestly, the Mindscape Power Player was always my go to. It is a clicky switch based joystick and I always found it ergonomically better for me to have the fire button and the joystick directly on top of one another. #Commodore64 #C64 #Commodore
